But the colors were
Not bright nor radiant
Rather pale, drained of
Rosy red blood cells

The only beauty

@Wesley: I probably should have thrown in an explanation with this one. My grandmother recently passed away in a nursing home, and the other day someone wrote on Twitter that nursing homes would be more beautiful if people changed colors as violently as the leaves in the fall do. This is my reaction to that statement.
Its summer here in the southern hemisphere, and its about rebirth and new beginnings. Your post and especially your comment reminds me about the great circle of life, and how life continually cycles through the many processes of birth, life, death, and rebirth.
I’m sure your connection to your gran means that you’ll be together again in flesh
